In forming Vast Productions with Tim Slade in mid 2004, Joanna brought with her creative and production experience in international artist management and performing arts production - a background in managing the careers of distinguished opera singers, instrumentalists and conductors and producing live performances and recordings of leading contemporary and classical ensembles and individual artists. While Associate Producer on Musical Renegades (produced by RB Films) on the Australian Chamber Orchestra, ‘4’ perhaps officially marks Joanna’s first work as a filmmaker.
