SUSAN MACKINNON

Executive Producer

Susan MacKinnon has worked as an independent producer for twenty years winning many awards and international acclaim for her documentaries. Her popular short drama, Fetch, screened in over fifty world festivals, including official competition at Cannes. Her successful documentaries include - Eternity; Loaded - The Gun Lovers; You Must Remember This, Dinner For Six, Somewhere Between Light And Reflection and Men And Their Sheds.

Susan is executive producer/ producer on a number of films just completed, in production and development including, Global Haywire by Academy Award winner Bruce Petty, In The Company of Actors and Over My Dead Body. Both Global Haywire and ‘4’ are nominated for the 2007 Australian Film Institute’s Best Documentary. From 1998 to 2005 Susan was an Investment Manager at the Film Finance Corporation Australia (FFC), where she assisted filmmakers in negotiating finances for their documentaries. While being a tireless advocate for Australian documentaries, she helped finance over 400 films during this time, including many international co-productions and joint ventures. Susan is an Executive Officer of Documentary Australia and a Director of the Documentary Australia Foundation. Susan is also a Director on the Board of the South Australian Film Corporation (2005 – 2009) and the Australian International Documentary Conference (2000 - 2007).
